Trollius or buttercup (Ranunculus). The frondlike leaves are from another plant, to the left of the one in flower.

thanks, Dan. The plant is bushy, and I thought it was all one plant. Now, I clearly see the 2 different plants. Today, the frondlike leaf plant has a bud! Maybe when it blooms, you or someone will be able to identify that one for me.

Agreed with Trollius for the yellow flower.

The pinnate leaves look like a Polemonium but that's not 100% certain

Should be native where you are - the genus is circumpolar cool temperate to arctic. So just seeding in from the local native flora. A nice blue flower (if I'm right with my ident, that is!).

Michael- you are one sharp gardener. I wish I had 1/2 your knowledge. The plant is indeed Polemonium**Jacob's Ladder**. Thanks again!!
