Hello! Can anyone identify this tree?? I absolutely love it, and desperately want one for my yard, but i don't know what it is and haven't seen it at any nurseries. It's a weeping tree (gets much longer, this was after a recent trim), and i included a closer-up of the leaves as well. Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks, Katherine tweedledum@gmail.com
Mulberry...? Thought Fig too, also member of the Moraceae. ??? But do Figs grow like this in Vancouver?
I actually saw this one in Kelowna, not that that makes a huge difference. It didn't get any kind of fruit on it, that i know of. I'll confirm that with the owner of the tree (she wasn't sure what kind it is, but she can let me know for sure if there was any fruit on it).
Fear not: as soon as our incredibly knowledgeable membership views your tree, you will have a positive ID. Hmm. Perhaps sterile ornamental variety?
Possibly Morus alba Chaparral. A male mulberry, so it will never have fruit. The degree of "lobedness" in the leaves does seem to vary. http://www.missouribotanicalgarden....ant-details/kc/e300/morus-alba-chaparral.aspx http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=e...urce=og&sa=N&tab=wi&ei=I22zT5HnOcaW8QOlg8i7CQ
Yes, a weeping white mulberry. I'd move the smaller plants away from the one in the picture and let it drape, like it is supposed to.
