Can anyone ID this tropical for me?

I've got this growing in a pot in Grenada but I have no idea what it is.
Does this look familiar to anyone?

It had clumping rhizomes with a reddish hue and green, 12" high growth on top.

Kind of like a canna or calla in looks.

Anyone?

It kind of looks like a banana plant. But that could be entirely wrong.

 

Definitely not a banana, but I see what you mean. :)

 

I would still lean toward something in the Musaceae / Strelitziaceae / Heliconiaceae.

 

It's a year old and 12" tall if that helps.

 

I would go for Heliconia spp. And I hope that it flowers for you to be sure!
