I don't know much about plants, but I was wandering through the woods along the Hood Canal in Washington State when I found these strange shrimp-shaped things growing out of the ground around these specific dead flowers. Is it some kind of fungi? They were hard, somewhat transparent like the wrapping on spring rolls. I saw about five or six "patches" of them in a dry clearing (a storm passed through at some point and knocked down half the trees. It struck me because there were hardly any shrubs in that isolated area). Does anyone know what it is? I am really curious because they looked so... spooky. Haha.

    Thank you!
