    Hi,
I'm trying to ID these enormous Water lilys at Wat Ek Phnom, from my last trip to Cambodia. Any ideas?

Larger / zoomable image can be found here http://home.livingat.org.

    Thanks :)

So being in Asia, this is most likely Nelumbo nucifera?

They just where so much larger then any I have seen before :)

    Thanks,

Yep, Nelumbo nucifera. Although superficially similar to water-lilies, they're only very distantly related, and are more closely related to planes Platanus. One of the more unexpected findings of genetic research!
