@Tao31, thanks for these. I have updated the map. The trees on the right, are they also 'Akebono', just not in bloom, but the ones in the next aisle are completely in bloom? That's been a common theme for me this year, though.

Wendy, Yes, they are 'Akebono', just not in full bloom at that time.

Here is one of the best 'Tai-haku' trees in the area, the one @Anne Eng referenced in her Sunset posting of the same cultivar that may be an equal to this.
Thanks to the tree's neighbour Judith Anderson who sent along the photos.

It's nice to see these trees next to each other, both having what we'd call white flowers, but they have very different colouring. Well, the aging 'Akebono' flowers are going a dull pink.

Is this 'Matsumae-Fuki'? I saw semi double blush white flowers with bronze leaves from outside of a fenced yard. The tree is not visible, located in the backyard of the building on 4475 Grange Street. There were no fallen flowers on the ground, so I was not able to measure the size of the flower, it looks to me it is about 3-4cm in diameter, and I did not smell any scent. The tree is about 4m tall.

This looks like 'Ukon' to me. The leaf colour and the awn-like extensions on the teeth are right for that cultivar. Older, established 'Ukon' trees often display whitish flowers (i.e., with less yellow) when temperatures are low. In Britain, where 'Matsumae-fuki' is popular, the leaves are described as chocolate-brown (i.e., quite a bit darker). I think it doubtful that a modern Japanese hybrid cherry like 'Matsumae-fuki' (it wasn't available until 1974 in Japan) would be here. Canadian plant protection regulations enacted around then effectively prohibited the importation of stone fruits.

Those golden leaves and white flowers had me confused too. I just saw 'Ukon' in two locations the previous day, but the similarity never occurred to me. Well, one was our old "not-a-Ukon" on Barclay Street in the West End. Even in the West End, the flowers were just emerging. It was looking very yellow, but we had a white car nearby for comparison. Flowers were fully open though on the one 'Ukon' in the group of six 'Shirotae' in front of the Sutton Place Hotel. I thought it was easy to notice the difference in colour. I had a trick question for the walk participants: "How many 'Shirotae' trees are in this planting?" Only one person in the whole group picked up on the difference in colour until it was pointed out.
Thank you for including this bit. I can't imagine how we'd be able to learn to distinguish all those cultivars. Even a tree on private property, the homeowners either were not the ones who selected or planted it, or they do not remember the name. Of course the occasional contraband seed, lovingly carried from its homeland, does get planted. Then we have to recognize that it's a seedling and not a named cultivar.

I can't get update access for new cherry scout @idove, so she has sent me photos taken today from Burnaby Mountain to post for her. These are the 'Somei-yoshino' at the Picnic Area at the top. I cropped the last photo, which shows off the large stars from the front, long thin sepals, and a couple of almost fuzzy pedicels and calyx.

Five 'Shirotae' trees around a condo build on 6152 Kathleen Avenue are in full bloom. Branches of three trees stretch nicely over a walking path.

Two 'Shirotae' trees at Community Rotunda of Burnaby location, one is in full bloom and other is blooming at 50%.

Four 'Pink Perfection' trees at the same location do not look good. Two trees may be dead because there is nothing on it. One tree has a lot of buds. Other tree seems to have only one live branch, and it starts blooming.
