... brown colored fruit

    Brachychiton sp. or a related genus?

    I had a feeling it may have some relation to "brazil nut" family.

    Heard from local folks that a fresh fruit when cut - stinks very much - it can almost induce vomitting.

    I did not get to know the nature or color of its contents; guess, must be sort of soft pulp and seed(s).

    Two pictures here of a piece of fallen fruit - (it had no longer any of the foetid smell) -the shell is flexible, yet maintains its shape, has coir very similar to that of coconut.

    Chances of any species among Lecythidaceae?
