Hi all, I've got this strange plant and haven't a clue what it is. In Zimbabwe, we call it a Bottle Plant but can't find any reference to it on the net. Bulbous looking trunk and branches, grey thin bark, roundish large leaves, little red waxy flowers, milky sap. Grows to about 1 metre in height. Any ideas.

Well, the family name is Sterculia (I believe), but there seem to be two different species, one is Brachychiton and the other Pachypodium, and you'll have to Google those (plus 'Image') to see which is yours. Water very infrequently, next to nothing over winter, give it loads of sun, and enjoy!
