I live in South Georgia and noticed that here in my yard, there are several of these 'bushes'...not really sure what they are; I've heard so many different answers that there's no way I can be sure. Several have said they are wild blueberries, but...

Some of the bushes are very tall, better than 10 feet tall, and look more like trees. Others are lower to the ground, so there doesn't seem to be a constant size.

For background purposes, I live near a river (stone's throw away).

Any help on identifying this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for any help regarding this. By the way, if you need more pictures, I can post more.

I don't think they are blueberries, looks like something in the rose family (roseaceae) like possibly crab apple.

i don't think they're crabapple...look at the upper part of the pic and you can see one that's blue.

i think blueberry is correct - they look like it; even the red colored berries in the forefront of the pic. could be a wild variety? not sure as i've never the bush so i don't know what form it takes or how tall or wide.

Not Vaccinium corymbosum. Doesn't look like V. arboreum either.

maybe it's a wild blueberry...v. cyanococcus. bush size will vary greatly with the wild type.

Maybe these pictures will help some. Seems as if there were between 10-15 small seeds in each berry that I opened. Hope these help.

Thanks for the responses, I'm hoping to figure this one out soon!
