Or maybe not wild ... unsure but I have a collection of plant photos I've taken over the years in the region and I'm unsure of the names. The last photo is some kind of apple maybe?

It helps to know when plants are flowering ..spring summer.
Whether in a garden or a weed in the wild.

    #2 and #4 - perhaps Medicago sativa
    #8 might be Gerbera

    2 and 4 - same?
I agree with prev post ID by Tyrlych

I call it the common name “alfalfa” (As in livestock food)

Item 6 — sumac? (Rhus - as already stated above) By this time of year (late summer / early Sept) that upright conical “flower” is likely deep velvet red color and texture. The leaves turn a striking orange red, too. It is very common in dry sunny gravel places such as along the bone dry & hot sw facing KVR Rail Trail above the lake north of Penticton.

Your comments about Rhus glabra caught my attention because it sounds like something that would grow well on the hot, dry slope I have no clue what to do with. Would you recommend it for a somewhat ornamental garden with little soil and very limited watering?
