berberis? pyracantha?

    hi --

    i was just in montréal, and at the cimetière notre-dame-des-neiges saw several of these large shrubs (5-6 ft). a friend thinks they're some kind of pyracantha, but it looks more like berberis vulgaris to me, except the fruit is a bit more pointy at the end than the images i googled.

    here's the picture. sorry it's not the best; we were unfortunately in a hurry.
