Nice vanilla scent from the flowers, too.

Surpised it is flowering already! Around here, they flower in mid/late May.

 

I just bought a Clematis for my back yard. Is it possible that the foliage smells like bananas? When I was untangling it, I could have sworn I smelled bananas. It has buds on it, but none are near blooming yet, so I am pretty sure it's not the flowers, lol!

 

...just back today and wanted to let you all know that this is a photo of last year but that there are pinkish buds already on it this year.
I don't remember banana's though.
