The leaf of this plant is said to help diabetes and cure cancer. Does anyone know its proper name? Thanks in advance.
Looks like Bryophyllum daigremontianum. 'Mother of Thousands'. Dunno about any medicinal properties. ?
Thanks.........it seems as though the leaves are used medicinally in Mexico, Africa and Asia...probably elsewhere?
That's kind of funny. When I looked at it, I thought for sure it was what I know to be a Kalanchoe. But then I read what Togata said and thought I was wrong. In doing some research on it, I found out that it also goes by the name Kalanchoe daigremontianum. So some people still no doubt would call this a kalanchoe.
There is debate on whether to include Bryophyllum in Kalanchoe. There are around 40 species. The plant in the photo has large leaves. I think it may be a different species or a hybrid.
This variety(?) was used by a former cancer patient now cancer free and current diabetic. Some of my research of this plant stated that all parts are poisonous. Obviously this one isn't, unless it becomes non poisonous when boiled.
