I share sulev's opinion and tried (several times) to give a like to his/her post. The like was not accepted by the application. My like to another poster shoved immediately after refreshing the screen. Application glitch?
@Sundrop, have you tried again as this should not happen and gives rise to people thinking this is a biased thread, which it is not. Healthy debate is important on the forums. If it does not work on another attempt then I think a forums administrator @Daniel Mosquin should take a look.
@Sundrop, that's good. Just a glitch then! I did inform Daniel Mosquin and moderators, he may have fixed it. Haven't had an update from him yet though.
@Sundrop, good morning, sorry for the delay, I'm getting no response at all. Awaiting a reply from personal message on this.
Nothing has changed with the forum software. The only possibility I can think is that you attempted to log into the site when it was down a few weeks ago for server maintenance on short notice, and your cached javascript files glitched out temporarily.
@Daniel Mosquin As a matter of fact I, in the space of a couple of seconds, could give a like to another poster. Rather unusual.
@Sundrop, I'm doing a test. I have set you up as someone I ignore. Please try to like this posting, then reply and tell me if you were able to do that.
@wcutler Yes I tried to like and to unlike it successfully. BTW did you get notifications about both my actions?
@wcutler Aha, could you do the same (like and unlike) to my post. I am curious if the system sends a note both times?
Well, I didn't get to do my test. @Sundrop, when I set you up to ignore you, did you not get the notification of my previous posting? I have set you back to not ignore now, as I don't want to ignore you - I just wanted to know if someone were ignoring you, whether that meant you could not Like them.
@wcutler Do you mind to answer my question in post #18? I know some people like and after some time unlike the same post. I just wander what kind of notification the poster receives?
Ah - @Sundrop, I did not get notified that you replied, but I thought I would see your replies, which was not the case. In another thread, I saw that there was a posting from you that was hidden from me, but when I checked this thread, I did not see that. So I did not know you had replied. I'm sorry. Your replies show up now because I am no longer ignoring you. While I was ignoring you, I did not get any notifications about anything you did. So I did get to do my test, which was that my ignoring you still allowed you to like my post. I have liked your post in #18. I think you might want me to wait until you see that before I remove the like. But in posting #21, I have just liked it, but now I have unliked it, presumably before you see anything.
@wcutler All ready. I received notification about a like for post # 18, nothing for post #21. Interesting.
No notification. Thought you may be interested how this application works. Hopefully this post will not get deleted!
