I bought this plant last fall and was told that it is a vine. It died off in the winter and is back and looking more like a bush this spring. It has many buds but has yet to bloom. I moved it from the small pot that it came in to a larger pot after I purchsed it. I would love to put it in the ground but am not sure where to put it. If anyone knows what it is then maybe I can learn more about how large it will grow and where it would like to live (shade, sun...). I also hve a couple of seeds from last fall that I would love to sprout but I m witing on that until I lern more. Thanks :)
Thnks! I googled "malva" and found this picture. It dosn't have the same flower structure but it does have very similar looking buds. I am getting closer :)
Thank you Thank you The leaves are very different from that of the Hibicus Trionum. The leaves are heart shaped. The H. moscheutos pictures look very similar to what I have. The flower was really large and stunning pink.
Kaye, I was given seeds a couple of yrs ago from Georga. They were called 'Hardy Hibiscus', were more bush than vine and had big flowers. I grew them in the green house and they did well. Those flowers were larger than any of the local mallow or bushy Hibiscus I've ever seen around here. Check the internet and see what you think. barb
Plant asked about here definitely H. moscheutos. There are two common hardy hibiscus, this large-flowered herbaceous perennial species and the woody, tall-growing H. syriacus.
Thanks to everyone who replied! My flowers petals look different than all I have seen on the web but just learning that it is hibiscus is very interesting. I apreciate all of the imput. Thanks again :)

Yes! Awsome! I have found my answer! I looked at the link from "Maleficent2" and there it is! I am really excited. Unfortunately I do not have a swamp to plant it in but I will try and keep it moist. Thanks sooooo much everyone for the info!
