I found this growing in some overgrown grass... it looks too nice to be a weed... is it? It has fuzzy stems.
Yes! I compared it to pictures on Google, and it looks just like it. How interesting! It is in an overgrown patch of grass along my fence. I knew it didn't look like a weed so I trimmed the grass all around it. Wonder how it got there... As far as I know there's none in my yard, unless my neighbor has some planted on the other side of the fence... Thanks!
I believe that it is a member of the mint family and as such can be very invasive. It is useful for cooking and I let it grow in my `lawn` as it remains green even during dry spells and I just mow it down so it never gets too high or flowers. Unfortunately it did seed into my flower and veggie garden where it is more of a problem Margaret
The seeds could come even farther from than your neighbour next door. Oregano reseeds freely, but this doesn't mean it is invasive.
