Found this in my garden. I have no clue. It has a small yellow flower that opens during the day into a small bell type flower. It lasts a day or two and goes into the cones with seeds. It's now standing at about 5 feet tall and has the broad leaves, about 4 inches across. Anyone?
The unripe seeds of velvetleaf (Abutilon theophrasti Medik.), an annual not native to the U.S., are edible, and the ripe seeds should be washed to remove any bitterness and can be ground and put into soups. Also, a strong fibre can be obtained from the plant.
