I think these are planted for decoration along the river walk in my city. I'd like to know what they are and if they are edible or poisonous.
It is a Viburnum. Possibly Viburnum x rhytidophylloides or Lantanaphyllum viburnum. The berries of which will change colour from red to black. http://images.google.com/images?hl=...x rhytidophylloides&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&tab=wi
Thank you very much for that, both of you. These here are not the same right? They are side by side and these turn from red to black also but have completely different leaves and structure. I was going to enquire about these in a different thread but...if it can be answered here then I'll save the space.
You are correct they are not the same. I believe it is a Cherry Laurel. Prunus laurocerasus. http://images.google.com/images?hl=...urocerasus++berry&btnG=Search+images&aq=f&oq= http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prunus_laurocerasus
