See growing in a garden in Kirriemuir, Perthshire. Scotland, on Sunday 11th May. It was in a corner against the house...very protected. (Garden contained several unusual plants!) Interesting leaves. Woody. Sorry about quality of close up pic. Please can anyone help to id it? Thank you.
Heliohebe hulkeana, Hebe hulkeana, Veronica hulkeana - take your choice! Classification of the Hebes and their allies has been in a state of upheaval in the last few years following some molecular results. Some of the best informed taxonomists say that they should all be sunk again into Veronica.
I was going cross eyed looking at Hebe, Parahebe and Veronica but was not coming close to a match for the leaves. I decided rather than waste even more time I would seek expert help. Pics will for the time being get labelled Heliohebe hulkeana!
