I have an aloe plant that requires identification. I purchased it in a 2-inch pot about eight years ago. Now it is 24 inches in diameter. Every summer, here in Massachusetts, it sends out two-three foot long stalks (about 2-3 in number), loaded with pinkish-orange, bell-shaped flowers. Please see the two attached photos. Thanks for the help.
I think it's not an Aloe... Looks like some Gasteria sp. (or a Gasteria x Aloe hybrid...) (Gasteria species have very hard leaves, Aloe species usually softer... and the flowers are also a bit different... but we can't see the flowers... :(
I think that you are probably correct. Two years ago I collected the seeds and planted them. They germinated rather quickly, but have been slow growing ever since. Thanks again.
