In The Garden: Very invasive weed? - hosta look alike

    These started to pop up in our garden beds and lawn about three years ago.
    They first appear mid-May, green leaves are very tightly curled around the stem before opening. Height approximately 10". Very hard to remove - stem breaks and roots remain. Basically need to be dug up.

    Any idea what these are and how to get rid of them?

    Are you sure that's not a desirable?
    Would love to see pictures of it after it flowers.

    Epipactis helleborine, a weedy orchid of foreign origin.
