Here's another that's been lurking for a while in my unidentified plants file.

It's an evergreen tree that seem to be of borderline hardiness here. It often is quite badly damaged by the end of winter after a succession of lows of around -5C. I've been observing this plant for around 10 years and have never seen any flowers. Maybe the buds are killed over winter.

My general impression of the plant is that it's avocado-like, especially with its bronze new growth and leaf texture, but the foliage has very blunt tips.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Possibly Ficus lyrata?

Niot a Ficus, as there are no encircling stipular scars at nodes. I am inclined to think it may be Lauraceae, in line with the observed similarity to an avocado.
