Plant Identification

    Hi...I'm new to this. I don't know if I'm doing this right...IF there is a photo with this, could someone tell me what this plant is? It's growing wild in the yard. I almost mowed it down....sure is pretty.

    Hi, this is a clover (and appears to me to be red clover). If that's the case, its scientific name is Trifolium pratense - have a look at the painting on this site. It's an introduction from Europe, and now one of the most widespread clovers in North America.
