Magnolia(?) ID help

    Newbie here, just starting to discover the wonderful world of plants.....

    Much research tells me this is most likely a variation of a magnolia, poss a
    Magnolia virginiana var. australis ? or a cultivar of that, i think is the proper way to say that?
    [Its very similar to a Live Oak as well. I see there is a Quercus virginiana species.]

    Actually it's a Rhododendron .

    thank you so much. Wow.
    Are they similar to Magnolia's?? I thought i was getting good at this, but i wasn't close!
    The spider leg like pistils, or whatever was confusing for ID.

    Those are the remnant stigmas and developing fruit capsules.
