I do hope members can ID this Tree. It was photographed on 30-8-2017 in an extremely shaded area. The height of the fully grown tree I estimate to be about 16-20 m. Many thanks in advance.

Ailanthus altissima, an invasive species from China.

Dear me Lila! I seem to be making so many ID mistakes. I am not going to use these photographs, I took them out of curiosity because this tree is to be found growing everywhere. As you say, it is an invasive sp. growing in and around the village where I live. No matter where you go one can see it growing everywhere. Once more, many thanks.

Crush a leaf, and smell it! You will never ever forget Ailanthus... :-)

Funny. I've never picked up on the smell. @duffy, look for little glands near the leaflet "shoulders". Those are characteristic of this and not any look-alike.

Unfortunately Ailanthus is extremly invasive in my area too, one of my gardens is also always full of Ailanthus seedlings and young trees. I used to pull them out, but they grow back in a week. :(
But at least I have smelled it several times! :) And not just the smell, but the sap of the plant can be also very irritative, if you pull out 500 seedlings in a day. :(((
