What is your favorite Variegated maple? If you could only have one what would it be?
Whichever one reverts to green the most quickly . . . guess that'd be Acer negundo 'Variegatum'
My vote is for A.P. ‘Higasayama’ first picture taken in the spring of 1999. This was taken in early spring ( May 1) with morning sun supplying the lighting effects. Second picture taken April 22 2006 with lots of flowers.
1°Platanoides Drummondii ,2°JM Oridono Nishiki,3°Conspicuum Silver Cardinal(3°have a beautiful bark)alex
ditto alex' choices above. i also love the variegated pseudoplatanuses - Leopoldii,
Nizetii, Eskimo sunset etc. also love a campestre Carnival. a single favorite is too
limiting for my taste
Sagara nishiki. Mature leaves are gorgeous both in spring and fall. Amazingly beautiful tree!
My favourite two variegated Japanese Maples are Ukigomo (mines has been stunning this year so far) & Higasa Yama. I also have a small Acer Negundo Flamingo which is nice too.
All good choices..I think mine would be Oridono Nishiki and UKigumo.
Shojo-no-mai (wish i could find one) and higasa yama are my favorites......today.
I recently saw a mature Shojo-no-mai and must say this tree is beautiful! How come this one is so hard to find here in oregon? pics are of Higasa yama
