I need advice as to where I should plant a yellow smoke bush. Does it like sun or shade ? What type of soil conditions ? Thankyou.Nrad
Cotinus coggygria ' Gold Spirit' is tolerant of a a fairly wide range of soil conditions. Prefering a deep compost rich, well drained site in full sun. I have seen them growing in shady conditions where they tend to be much more vegetative in habit rarely producing flowers and eventual seed heads, which give the common name 'Smoke Bush'
