Identification: Yellow-flowered asteraceae, purple stems, pinnate basal leaves

Here is another dandelion-looking flower, right next to the hawkweed I posted. The basal leaves, purple stems, and flower buds look like Youngia japonica, false hawksbeard or Japanese hawkweed, but this plant has leaves up the stem and I'm not seeing that on any Youngia japonica photos, so maybe I have this entirely wrong, and I don't know what other names to look up. I didn't notice any hairs on this plant.

Spelling is conventionally Sonchus of course.

Sonchus - thanks. I knew there was at least a name I should have remembered. I am looking that up now on the E-Flora BC Atlas Page.
The three listed are Sonchus oleraceus, S. asper and S. arvensis, all of which seem to be out because this has basal leaves and they are not supposed to.

I see that real hawksbeards are Crepis. A brief look doesn't seem like that's right for this.
Hmm, I've been through all the Asteraceae on that site. I either missed it or it's not there.

 

On the other hand, the section on Sonchus oleraceus, annual sowthistle, on this page, around half-way down, looks pretty similar. Aren't those basal leaves?
