I've got a 3' wollemi "pine" that came with a stake. I initially tried to remove it but it bent right over to the ground...

Now two years later the same thing. I know it needed to harden up at a smaller size to hold up it's bushy canopy, but wondering if there is anything I can do our must it be permanently staked?

    Hoping for alternatives. Thanks!

Probably root-bound. Is it loose at the root, as though not anchored properly?

I actually potted it up by loosening roots by the book.
It seems like the trunk is just really bendy. Probably staked its entire life and never gained strength from blowing winds etc.

Maybe it needs more light. At some point it should firm up.
