Help!!! I have bought my first home and a 30 year old Wisteria is taking down two, going on three of my evergreen trees. How do I prun it, and when? If I cut it out of the trees, will I kill it?

No it won't just sever the ones going up the trees and then wait for winter to prune and retie a few of the runners. you may need to be brutal and really cut it back and start again. It will come back but may take a couple of years to flower properly. It will be easier to pull the ones up the trees out when the leaves fall off.

Put the words Wisteria pruning in the search tab at top of page and you will find lots of notes about Wisteria
