I need to know if I can split off the "sibling" palms that are growing out of the main stalk without damaging the plant, and how to do it (if it's possible). Thanks

Maybe you are talking instead about a Chamaerops - these clump, Trachycarpus does not.

Except where there is a cluster of seedlings close to one another. Or your Trachycarpus is doing something less usual, like having seeds that fell among the old leaf bases on the trunk germinate and survive for a time.

You are correct! I pulled the tag out of the book I keep. So same question but in regards to a Chamaerops humilis. Can I divide them or will this damage the original plant?

    Thanks
