I have a little question about platning an onion. i had an onion in my kitchen that sprouted green shoots, so as an experiment i planted it to see what would happen (in a container on my deck) The bulb has since grown large green shoots and the bulb has firmly rooted in the soil. my question is...will anything come of it? or have i just grown pretty green shoots. if nothing will come of it, i could use the pot for other purposes. any ideas? Thanks!
I would think that that one onion will grow. As long as it rooted it will live, and if you leave it you will get a flower too! No, you won't get many onions, just the one.
