Alberta has 3 native rose species, Rosa acicularis, R. arkansana and R. woodsii. Being armed with the species names should help you to find what you seek.

Try Ceadar Rim Nurseries on Glover road Langley. They did have what they were calling R. Woodsii last year but I didn't notice them there this year but it doesn't mean that they aren't there. Phone first. They have a small section of spieces rose at the end of their row of roses. You can order from Hortico nurseries in Ontario.

If it matters that they be from Alberta then you will want to be sure to determine that stock acquired originates there and not from somewhere else in the species natural range.

Alternately, if only the species matters, all three of the Alberta roses species also occur naturally in BC (along with a few others). Any nursery that grows primarily for restoration purposes might well have them for sale.

Thanks everyone! You are all so helpful!

I actually didnt know there were different species. I just grew up in Northern alberta and remember the roses being so beautiful. I wanted some in my garden because Im sentimental!
