I have a question, and have looked just about everywhere for it.

Why, when a row of fan palms is planted at the same time, one of them is always shorter?

It does it just to be irksome. I find other plants like to do the same. I think it is because the soil changes from one spot to another, or there is a big rock underneath one, try feeding that one more.
