Why do different plants look the same?

    I came here to find an answer from experts. Why does an alocasia stingray, which is an alocasia, look like an epipremnum skeleton key?

    It's called 'convergent evolution'. The same environmental pressures on different unrelated plants (and animals) can push them towards evolving very similar features that happen to perform well in those conditions.
