This year I found at least 7-6 Akebono trees in this area.


3 Akebono trees in circle 37-142-36a-0143, all trees are young.
After discussion, it is changed to Somei Yoshino

 

Hmm, I guess I didn't believe it last year. The flowers look just like 'Autumnalis Rosea', it's true. But it's astonishingly good-looking for that cultivar. And what a lot of flowers! Now when they're all but finished everywhere else, except for a few flowers.

This one I really think is not 'Snow Goose'. Flowers are too large, and the stars in the centre are too narrow and come to too much of a point. And the stems look too hairy. And the branches are not pointing inward. Also, on 'Snow Goose'/'Umineko', the background colour is mostly green, from leaves and from the calyces. These cultivars are just starting to open around town, and usually manage to get leaves out when they do.
I think this is 'Somei-yoshino'.

 

It was too white and looks like the middle of the flower is transparent and too green. Flowers are big.
