I live in Southern California. I have this huge avocado tree that bears delicious avocados and recently discovered a white flaky, kinda moist substance on several areas of the large barks. Initially, I thought they may be termites because the white substance has the consistency of when termites burrow through wood. However, there is no damage to the bark aside from just this growth on it. Also, I don't see any difference in the leaves or the actual fruit. Can anyone help identify what this is? Should I be concerned?
