Hello, I have a cherry tree that shows white and yellow rubber-like discharge on the trunk and larger branches. A little history of the tree: - the tree was decent sized when I bought the house about 12 years ago - the trunk split down the middle about 10 years ago during a storm - it has not born fruit for about 3-4 years, but appears in good health otherwise - a neighbor has a cherry tree located about 40 yards from mine and it bears fruit just fine - Ashamedly, I must say that I have never done anything to the tree, such as fertilizing or pruning I've not done anything about the lack of fruit since no one besides me in my house likes cherries, but I've decided that I would like to start harvesting the cherries. Also, I'm a little afraid that whatever is wrong with the tree might spread to my apple and pear trees (possible?). Also, I'm not really sure what type of cherry tree this is. How can I find out? I'm attaching pics. Thanks, Dave

Thanks for the link. I read that, but it doesn't really say what to do about it. Could this cause the lack of cherry production? Thanks, Dave
