Hilda, thanks for giving me the idea to also include threads for each cultivar here, where we'll list the best locations the scouts find for each type of tree. The West End Neighbourhood Blog has lots of good Whitcombs in addition to the 2008 Festival Favourite at Haro Park Manor (edited by wcutler 2011dec30: those are no longer there!). My favourites are at Nicola mini-park at Pendrell further down Nicola at Beach Ave, and Nelson, three locations in the block between Bute and Jervis. Two locations on the Stanley Park golf course: NE corner, photos, and NW corner, photos.
The collection eteinindia posted in Mt Pleasant at 15th and Sophia sounds like a good candidate for a festival favourite.
