Hello there, I would like to get some fan palm trees (small size appr. 2 feet) to plant indoor. Is there any places (nurseries) I can go and get them? And how can I take care of them? Thank you
Most garden centers that sell indoor tropical plants will have access to them. Care instructions should be supplied at the point of purchse, dependant somewhat on the species.
Are you looking to buy them at 1 metre overall height, 1 M trunk hieght, or 1M at maturity? I don't think there's much that will thrive in BC, but you might look into Rapidophyllum hystrix (zone 6b) or Sabal minor (7) for dwarves... Trachycarpus fortunei (7b), Butia capitata (8), otherwise. Should be lpenty of places to pick them up - Oak Bay Village apparently has a sale every year, as well.
