What's a good grape variety?

Discussion in 'Grapes and Grape Vines' started by Unregistered, Feb 20, 2002.

  1. I would like to plant a grapevine in my garden for table (eating) grapes. Are there any particularly suitable varieties for the Vancouver area? Our garden doesn't get a lot of sun, but I was thinking of growing the grapevine over a trellis/arbour to help solve that problem.

Thanks for any advice you can give!

Thanks for checking out our website. There are two grape varieties suitable for the west coast, that are reccomended by the ministry of agriculture, food and fisheries, they are: Sovereign Charter and Interlakken, both are table grapes.

  3. I am faimilar with another variety, called Himrod. I had it in Richmond. It gave us a reasonable supply after about 4 years.
