Hi everyone, I collected some palm tree seeds on a new year's eve, 3 years ago, from the palm trees in English Bay and planted some in my flower pots (indoors) just to see what happened. 5 or 6 months later,to my delight, I got a few seedlings, it took a lot of patience to wait to see the true leaves emerge. Finally one of them grows to be half a foot tall with several sets of leaves, looking like a real palm.still in a 10 inch pot. It was extremely slow-growing. Could anyone tell me what the variety could be so I can learn how to care for it, soil, fertilizer, watering? Thanks. Limei

Those palms you've collected seeds from are Trachycarpus fortunei or Windmill palm. Plenty of info on these palms if you Google search.

It look me quite a long time to get the answer to this very question, and finally, google came up with this thread, so I'm adding some photos. These show the flowers, and in the last photo, emerging flowers with last year's fruits.
