I received a piece of a plant from my sister-in-law and let it spider in some water before planting it. Two years later it has grown into a monster. It has about an inch and a half thick green vine about 10 feet long with dark knobs around it every five inches massive heart shaped leaves; with several leaves app. 9'' across and 14'' long. I thought it was an Alocasia Odora but I am not sure they grow like this. Can I put this monster outside?
It sounds like either a Monstera or a Philodendron, but agree that a pic would be necessary for a proper ID.
Any plant going from inside to outside should first be put into bright shade,, then gradually giving it more and light, otherwise leaves can burn, so finding out what you have will let you know how much would be enough.
I have some pictures of the plant here they are: I hope these help identify what this plant is. Thank you Bluflame
It's a Philodendron. You can move it outside, but you'll have to bring it in again for the winter because it's not even remotely hardy.
Could be Philodendron hederaceum but the plant is far too juvenile to be certain http://www.exoticrainforest.com/Philodendron hederaceum pc.html Aroids morph as they mature which means they change a great deal. It could be any of a large number of climbing aroid species including a Philodendron or a Monstera sp.
