I am trying to nurse this plant in my office back to health. I would like to know what type of plant? And how to get it healthy again? Thank you for the help.
There are many species of yuccas. Most of them have spiny tips - they can be viscious and are not suitable as houseplants. This is the spineless type - Yucca elephantipes.
From looking at the stalk and what looks like stiff and leathery leaves, I believe it's a Yucca elephantipes. They like lots of of light.
if the soil is extremely moist, repot with fresh cactus soil and don't water it for a couple of weeks so the roots have time to throughly dry out. also, the container it's in should have drainage holes so that the excess water can drain off. you can keep the container inside something larger so that it looks nice.
