Identification: What type of fungi is this?

    This was found recently in my backyard. What type of fungus is this?

    No idea what they are, but with that swollen stem, I wonder what and how big the caps open up to be.

    Agree with Michael's ID...be sure though, if u'r interested in eating this? That you take a spore print first. If it's a rust color it's in the Cortinarius family...and most likely toxic. These can stand as tall as 7inches with the cap not NEARLY as large as you'd think. The stem actually slims out as it grows. The spore print on these should be a light purplish/white color.
