Last fall I picked a few seeds from some of my mother's various different Japanese maple trees and put them in some seedling soil in the fridge and now they are starting to germinate. I did this as a fun project but I didn't realize how many of these would be successful. So I'm wondering what to do next. I was going to put them in a seedling starter mix in a few 72 cell containers but I was wondering what type of soil mix would give me my best chances of success. Growing in the ground is not an option since I have no where with enough shade. I live in Redding Ca. Zone 9 where it gets really hot. Anyone with suggestions I'm all ears.
