What kind of tree is this?

    I just moved into a new home, and found this small tree in the corner of my yard. It's about eight feet tall, and sort of shrublike (the leaves grow all the way down the trunk). It has these green fruits on them that I don't recognize. Anyone have any ideas?

    Which Chaenomeles species has so long fruit stalk?
    C.japonica fruits sit on so short stalks that they often has dent made by branch...

    Is not it a plum?
