Identification: What kind of pears and when to harvest.

We were told only that these pears are "winter" pears. They are now just starting to fall off the tree and while firm, also a bit sweet. We don't want to harvest too early. Also knowing type will help with what to do with them after harvest !

 

Pears are picked when they reach full size. They are then ripened off the tree.
