What is this?

    I bought this thing from Walmart, because it was pretty. And only 10 dollars.

    It had no identification, however, and in order to properly care for it, I'd like to know what it is.

    Yeah, some kind of ornamental banana (Musa or Ensete cv.).

    Yes. Unreservedly yes. It probably also wants a great deal faster drainage than it's got, more water, more sunlight, and more heat.
