what is this

    Please let me know if you know what this is they have fallen from my pine trees in my yard and I have no idea what they are.
    I can only describe it as brown in color, looks like a worm but it’s not alive and it seems to have seeds or something like it. Is this a seed pod? I think it is usually coated with pollen in the spring.

    Sounds like pollen cones, they drop at this time of year after shedding their pollen in spring.
